Summer on the Prairies can be exhilarating. I love to paint on location with Oils and my portable easel. Grain Elevators were so majestic especially with a Train rolling by they make a compelling subject to paint. I enjoy the challenge of accurate drawing and work very hard to make it real and still expressive. Paying attention to the effects of Light and Atmosphere.
I live with my Wife and Family in the country on a Acreage where I have a Studio, a Dog, a Tractor some vintage Haying equipment and we keep a couple of horses.
Starting life in northern Alberta I moved south to attend Alberta College of Art and graduated in 1978. Made a living with my business in Graphic Design. Over the years I painted at every opportunity & participated in Art Shows, Arts Groups, and created a few Murals.

I enjoy local history & love to listen to seniors relate their life stories. Then try to incorporate that into my paintings
Usually I paint directly on the canvas. Often starting with a quick under painting then building up the colors. My paintings usually look very loose until the very last stage.
I was honored to be president of the Airdrie Regional Arts Society and this was a highlight for me. Also exhibiting at the Calgary Stampede Artists Studios was a career goal.
